          Grief is traumatic. It's the human response to a great loss or trauma. While we typically think of grief as the human response to death, which it is, you can grieve for any loss. People often go through a period of grief when diagnosed with a terminal illness, after a breakup, a relocation, a job loss, or a closing chapter. There are all different types of grief and the way you process them will depend on the type and depth of loss you have experienced.

    &lt;font&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/font&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

           If you type grief into an internet search, you will easily find a definition. While we have an exact definition for it, it is more complicated than that.

  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;font&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/font&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;font&gt;&#xD;
      
                      
           There are all different types of grief, from abbreviated grief that sees people bounce back quicker than what is deemed normal to exaggerated grief which comes with mental health issues. 
          
                    &#xD;
    &lt;/font&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;font&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/font&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;font&gt;&#xD;
      
                      
           The key to all types of grief is to deal with it head-on. How you deal with it will depend on the type of grief you're experiencing, the cause for it, and it will have a lot to do with who you are as a person.

  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;font&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/font&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;font&gt;&#xD;
      
                      
           While resilience plays a part, there's more to it than that. My free mini-series will address grief and loss under the “New Normal”.  What am I referring to?  It is closing and grieving the old life chapter(s) while learning to modify chapters that include the pandemic and racial awareness.
